We love when people ask us, “What do you do?” We manage so many exciting projects; we’d like to continue sharing some behind the scenes of what we do in collaboration with our partners.
In April, we embarked on a month-long road trip across America for Walmart’s “Iconic Movie Cars” tour. Our client, Next Pictures, provided us with this exciting project.
Walmart gave customers a front row seat to the live action sequel of their unforgettable commercial featuring iconic movie cars picking up their online grocery orders.
Customers were able to see four of the cars featured in the commercial at their local Walmart including Ecto-1 from “Ghostbusters,” K.I.T.T., the Pontiac Trans Am from “Knight Rider,” “Jurassic Park” Ford Explorer, and the “Back to the Future” DeLorean.
Rob Dissman, principal at Pyramid Logistics, said, “There are people of all ages who have developed some type of memories associated with one or more of these amazing automobiles. It’s a privilege to be the transportation team for this very precious cargo”.
Our truck driver, Kirk Krueger, was the main driver for this project. He utilized a customized transport trailer to move the cars around the country. Because these cars are so valuable, his partner carefully drove them into the trailer while Kirk guided him. They secured all of the cars on the truck and hit the next stop.
In total, Kirk, and the team traveled more than 12,000 miles and stopped in 13 different locations across the United States.
The four cars cruised through Walmarts in:
Kansas City, MO
Bentonville, AR (Walmart Headquarters)
Los Angeles, CA
San Francisco, CA
Kirk explained his experience during the road tour, “I’m very excited about being on the tour. It’s nice being around the cars and the people and seeing the smiles on their faces, especially the children.”
