Studio Transportation Services for Honda Motorcycle Commercial Shoot

With a new era kicking in, Honda unveiled its ultimate 2018 Gold Wing and Gold Wing Tourer through a majestic #whatliesbeyond teaser series. A three video teaser series was launched on the official site of Honda, showcasing its next-gen flagship cruiser in all its glory. The studio transportation for the shoot was carried out by Pyramid Logistics.

Touring Motorcycles saw its landmark when GL1000 made its debut in 1975. The legendary motorbike started off a new revolution with its release. In an attempt to create a flagship design for Honda under the lead of Toshio Nozue, Honda R&D managed to develop the ‘King of the Kings”. Fitted with a 999cc liquid cooled, horizontally-opposed 4-cylinder SOHC engine, the GL1000 targeted ‘Long Distance Riders’.

Gold Wing was the first motorcycle in Japan with a four-stroke engine and water cooling system. Slowly and steadily, with further progress in the engine power, look, and promotional materials, it began to take its proper place in the market. After five years of GL1000, the next generation of Gold Wing, GL1100 Gold Wing Interstate (March 1980) brought about another level to Honda’s ambitious project. It became the first Japanese turn-key tourer. Boosted with a 1085cc engine and factory-installed fairings with “lowers”, saddlebags, travel trunk, engine and saddlebags guards, and an optional sound system, Interstate captivated its riders in black or candy burgundy.

Over the following years, Gold Wing kept improving in every aspect – length, size, engine power, and equipment. The next ground-breaking design was unveiled in 1988 with 1,520cc, six-cylinder engine GL1500. The fourth generation of Gold Wing saw the biggest changes since its inception. Seamless appearance achieved through meticulous bodywork, larger windshield, longer wheelbase, more horsepower and more accessories defines the new Gold Wing.

The next change occurred in 2001 when Gold Wing 1800 was launched in the market. Heavily redesigned, it boasted a 1832cc six- cylinder, fuel injected engine, lighter body weight, and ABS braking system. In 2006, in-dash GPS navigating system and the first ever airbag were installed on GL1800. Through the next few years, Honda’s full-dress tourers saw better weather protection system and more user-friendly details like USB port installed on them.

Now in 2017, we are witnessing a whole new and more powerful Gold Wing, which has improved through 43 years of meticulous hard work and improvisation. The 2018 Gold Wing has arrived with 7-speed DCT engine and a new front suspension. It sets out a new standard for touring motorcycles. Incorporated with Apple CarPlay, it has been designed to do much more than ever.

The video series for 2018 Gold Wing are aimed to unveil the most famous touring legend in style. Featuring Honda motorcycles along with adventure undertones and a voice-over saying, “we know home, but what we don’t know is what lies beyond”, the video ushers excitement within the customers and admirers.
