“Wax on… wax off.” It’s the classic line that brings us back to the big screen in 1984. As one of the most famous movie lines in history, it is no surprise that Mr. Miyagi’s ride was one that people talk about today.
This past month, we had the opportunity to help our partners at Sony Pictures with an action-packed project: transport the famous 1948 Ford Super Deluxe Club Convertible that starred in the original Karate Kid. Our cross-country journey began in Culver City, California and ended in New York where the car starred on Good Morning America.
To celebrate Season 2 of the Karate Kid’s television series, Cobra Kai, the yellow convertible appeared on the New York City morning show where actors Ralph Macchio and William Zabka shared their experience filming.
Our team was thrilled to provide transportation and logistics for this cross country adventure. After its debut on Good Morning America, we then delivered the car to its final destination, Ralph Macchio’s house.
While Macchio was filming Karate Kid III, he had asked Columbia Pictures (Sony Pictures’ parent company) if he could buy the car, but he never heard back. On the day that Karate Kid Part III launched, the car appeared in front of his house in New York. What a gift!
When we come across projects like this one, we are reminded of how fortunate we are to have partners that trust us with their most cherished and valuable items.
We understand the need for expert logistical support in every single industry; that’s why we are passionate about providing dependable service.
